BPC was proud to host hands-on educational workshops on builder’s metalwork and plasterers’ beads with the talented students of Leeds College of Building.
Our team shared industry insights, practical tips, and expert guidance to help these future construction professionals hone their skills and prepare for successful careers.
During the session, our Product Development Project Manager, David Lo, provided an in-depth overview of key products such as joist hangers, restraint straps, wall ties, and wall starter kits. He explained the technical applications of these products, detailing how they are used in construction projects and what the students are likely to encounter as they progress through their training. This comprehensive breakdown helped to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, equipping the students with a solid understanding of essential building components.
Paul Rickett, Managing Director of our sister company Locusrite Ltd complemented the session by exploring the wide range of plaster beads available. He demonstrated how these beads are utilised in various scenarios, emphasising their importance in achieving clean, durable finishes in plastering work. His practical guidance ensured that the students gained valuable insight into the versatility and proper use of these critical tools.
Together, these workshops provided a well-rounded learning experience, empowering the students with both technical expertise and hands-on skills that will serve them well in their future careers in construction.
